Elizabeth of the Trinity

Elizabeth of the Trinity
(1880–1906)
   Mystic.
Elizabeth of the Trinity was born Elizabeth Catez in Farges-en-Seine, France. At the age of fourteen she took a vow of perpetual virginity and she was received into a Carmelite monastery in 1901. She was much influenced by the writings of teresa of avila, teresa of lisieux and John of the cross. Her mystical experiences centred on the mystery of the indwelling Trinity, which she described in a famous prayer: ‘O my Three, my all, my beatitude, infinite solitude, immensity, in which I lose myself, I surrender to you.’
